A learning experience based on curiosity and good listening
to help one reach their full potential.

This training will take place at Manoir d’Youville, and will be offered over two days as follows:

Monday, March 17th, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. (all day)
Tuesday, March 18th, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. (departure after supper)

We desire for no worker to do ministry alone. A few years ago, this coaching program was created to develop coaches in the church. Coaching responds to various problems, challenges, or questions that workers can encounter and also to the need to be more efficient in ministry.

Training 100 (first of two parts) covers the following topics, among others:

  • What is coaching, and what is it for?
  • The biblical concepts behind coaching
  • What makes a good coaching session
  • Learning to really listen
  • Learning to ask effective questions
  • The process of change and transformation

Two ways to register:

  • Registration with accommodation (until February 28th, 2025)
  • Registration without accommodation (until March 10th, 2025)

Tickets are available at the bottom of the page. They include:

  • Registration
  • Accommodation (if applicable)
  • A training manual
  • Meals
  • Taxes.

Our instructors:

 John Caplin (Coach)

While the word “coaching” has become part of our vocabulary, we may underestimate what a great asset this approach can be in our ministry. In his seminars, experienced pastor and trainer John Caplin leads participants to discover how to help those around them to better serve and achieve their goals.

His highly practical and focused teaching will be of great value to any pastor or leader who wants to “equip believers” for better service.

Charles Porter (Coach)

Charles Porter has been in ministry since 1997. He has been an associate pastor, senior pastor, church planter, and with University ministries. He began formal coaching in 2016. Having grown up in Europe, Charles learned French as a child. For 13 years, he and his spouse worked in East Africa. He has a Master in Organizational Leadership and loves to serve pastors and leaders in discovering how the stories that make up our bigger God story. Charles has been married to Tahnya for 25 years, and together they have three children: Joshua, Alana and Riley.
